How to avoid NULL

• Assume a default value on all fields

  • Integers: 0
  • Varchar2: ‘’
  • Expire date 1-JAN-2999

• Establish a dummy row to maintain FK relationships where possible

• Use triggers if useful (regdate := sysdate)
