CreateNamedSession Method

See Also
Example
Applies To

OraSession

Description

Creates and returns a new named OraSession Object.

Usage

orasession = orasession.CreateNamedSession(session_name)

Arguments

session_name
A string specifying the name of the session.
Remarks

Using this method, you can create named sessions that can be referenced later in the same application as long as the session object referred to is in scope. Once a session has been created, the application can reference it by way of the ConnectSession method or the OraSessions collection of their respective OraClient object. The OraSessions collection only contains sessions created within the current application. This means that it is not possible to share sessions across applications, only within applications.

This method is provided for simplicity and is equivalent to the CreateSession method of the OraClient object.
