The MULTICOL Tag
MULTICOL is an extension present only in
Netscape 3.0 and later that supports multi-column text.
It differs from standard HTML tables in that
MULTICOL lets text flow from one column to
another, but requires that all the columns be the same
width. Tables, on the other hand, require you to assign
sections of text to table cells in advance, but let
the columns be of varying sizes. Tables in Netscape
and Internet Explorer also let you assign different
background colors to different cells, something that
MULTICOL does not support.
