Support for negative margins tempts authors to use style sheets to implement drop shadows and other layered-text effects. Although the result can be dramatic when it works, the page will appear jumbled on browsers that do not support style sheets or where the user has disabled them. Tricks of this type can also make the pages dependent on assumptions about the user's window size.
