Oracle8
Enterprise Edition Getting Started
Release 8.0.5 for Windows NT A64416-01 |
|
This appendix describes the default directory structures
created when the Oracle8 database is installed on a Windows NT server and
or client computer.
Specific topics discussed are:
Oracle Installer places all Oracle8 database products for
the Windows NT Server by default into subdirectories of ORANT. This will
be a different location if you changed the default Oracle home during installation.
The subdirectories of a basic Oracle8 Enterprise Edition
installation are shown below. If you installed additional products, other
subdirectories are created.
For Oracle8 Enterprise Edition, all .DLL and .EXE files and
configuration variables have their version numbers appended. This convention
allows you to maintain multiple releases of these items for backward compatibility.
For example, the executable for the Oracle Names Control Utility version
8.0 is NAMESCTL80.EXE.
