Net8 Services and Port Numbers

This appendix describes the services and port numbers used by Net8.

Network Listener 

OracleHOME_NAMETNSListener80 (the service name if you are using the default network listener name LISTENER) or OracleHOME_NAMETNSListener80LSNR (where LSNR is the non-default network listener name)  

OracleHOME_NAMETNSListener80LSNR is only created if the following command has been run:  

LSNRCTL80 START LISTENER_NAME 

From the Windows NT Control Panel: 

  1. Double-click Services. 
The Services dialog box appears. 
  1. Select OracleHOME_NAMETNSListener80 or OracleHOME_NAMETNSListener80LSNR
  2. Click Start. 
  3. In the Services window, click the Close button. 
 

From the Windows NT Control Panel: 

  1. Double-click Services. 
The Services dialog box appears. 
  1. Select OracleHOME_NAMETNSListener80 or OracleHOME_NAMETNSListener80LSNR
  2. Click Stop. 
The Services confirmation dialog box appears, prompting you if it is OK to stop the service. 
  1. Click Yes to acknowledge the message, and click Close to exit the Services window. 
 
SNMP OracleSNMPPeerEncapsulator 
OracleSNMPPeerMasterAgent
From the Windows NT Control Panel: 
  1. Double-click Services. 
The Services dialog box appears. 
  1. Select OracleSNMPPeerEncapsulator or OracleSNMPPeerMasterAgent. 
  2. Click Start. 
  3. In the Services window, click the Close button. 
 
From the Windows NT Control Panel: 
  1. Double-click Services. 
The Services dialog box appears. 
  1. Select Select OracleSNMPPeerEncapsulator or OracleSNMPPeerMasterAgent. 
  2. Click Stop. 
The Services confirmation dialog box appears, prompting you if it is OK to stop the service. 
  1. Click Yes to acknowledge the message, and click Close to exit the Services window. 

Oracle Names 

OracleHOME_NAMENamesService80 

From the Windows NT Control Panel: 

  1. Double-click Services. 
The Services dialog box appears. 
  1. Select OracleHOME_NAMENamesService80. 
  2. Click Start. 
  3. In the Services window, click the Close button. 
 

From the Windows NT Control Panel: 

  1. Double-click Services. 
The Services window appears. 
  1. Select OracleHOME_NAMENamesService80 from the listing. 
  2. Click Stop. 
  3. The Services confirmation dialog box appears, prompting you if it is OK to stop the service. 
  4. Click Yes to acknowledge the message, and click Close to exit the Services window. 
 

Client Cache Service 

OracleHOME_NAMEClientCache80 

From the Windows NT Control Panel: 

  1. Double-click Services. 
The Services dialog box appears. 
  1. Select the service. 
  2. Click Start. 
  3. In the Services window, click the Close button. 
 

From the Windows NT Control Panel: 

  1. Double-click Services. 
The Services dialog box appears. 
  1. Select the service. 
  2. Click Stop. 
The Services confirmation dialog box appears, prompting you if it is OK to stop the service. 
  1. Click Yes to acknowledge the message, and click Close to exit the Services window. 
 

Oracle Connection Manager 

OracleHOME_NAMECManService80

From the Windows NT Control Panel: 

  1. Double-click Services. 
The Services dialog box appears. 
  1. Select OracleHOME_NAMECMAdminService80 
  2. Click Start. 
  3. Select OracleHOME_NAMECManService80 from the listing. 
  4. Click Start. 
  5. In the Services window, click the Close button. 
 

From the Windows NT Control Panel: 

  1. Double-click Services. 
The Services dialog box appears. 
  1. Select OracleHOME_NAMECMAdminService80 
  2. Click Stop. 
The Services confirmation dialog box appears, prompting you if it is OK to stop the service. 
  1. Click Yes to acknowledge the message. 
  2. Select OracleHOME_NAMECManService80 from the listing. 
  3. Click Stop. 
The Services confirmation dialog box appears, prompting you if it is OK to stop the service. 
  1. Click Yes to acknowledge the message, and click Close to exit the Services window.
